TOURNAMENT

Starting today you and four of your friends can register to compete in a national League of Legends Tournament sponsored by Intel, Alienware and Riot Games.

Overview

iGames is proud to host, along with our online tournament partner CEVO, the League of Legends – Extreme PvP Tournament, sponsored by Intel, Alienware and Riot Games.

Gamers will form teams to compete against teams located at LAN centers across the United States and Canada. The top teams will advance to play alongside online teams for a chance to win a share of $6,799.95 worth of cash and prizes.

Format

League of Legends (PC)
Teams: 5 vs. 5
Mode: Draft Mode
Map: Summoner’s Rift (Summer)

Schedule

Gamer Registration: July 9 – August 11

Each Wednesday evening during the Preliminary Phase, teams must show up to the LAN center by 7:00 p.m. Central Time. They will be assigned two matches to play that night, between 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Central Time.

Match 1 & 2: Wednesday, August 11
Match 3 & 4: Wednesday, August 18
Match 5 & 6: Wednesday, August 25
Match 7 & make-ups: Wednesday, September 1

The top 4 teams from the LAN Center Preliminary will advance to the Playoffs to compete in a subsequent 16 slot double-elimination bracket (alongside the top 12 teams from the online division). These matches will be scheduled with each respective opponent and must be completed by each Tuesday and Thursday, from September 16 to October 14.

Matchmaking

Matchmaking and score reporting will be handled directly through the Alienware Arena website and by iGames and CEVO staff. LAN center staff are only responsible for verifying that teams have showed up and the systems are adequately setup for gamers to use. No additional management of matches is required at all by LAN center staff.

To facilitate this process, LAN centers must install a simple matchmaking and chat client on each system that gamers will login to using their Alienware Arena username and password.

Prizes

The top 3 overall placing teams from the Playoffs will split $6,799.95 worth of cash and prizes.

1st – $750.00 USD (team total) and 5x Intel Core i7-975 processors (retail value: $979.99 USD each)
2nd – $500.00 USD (team total)
